Notes From Alaska: October Fun!

October, amazingly enough has come and GONE! We were all so busy and had a lot of fun. It is hard to believe that in 3 short weeks Thanksgiving will be upon us and of course the holiday season. So what has our little family of 3 been up to.

One Saturday we ventured up North to Willow, Alaska; just a few miles away from Talkeetna to visit a very dear friend of ours Dellarie and her husband Scott. We originally met Dellarie from our favorite campground spot, Montana Creek, PRE-Sara. Over the years we have gotten the pleasure to get to know her and for her to watch Sara grow. She is an amazing woman, with a heart of gold and we feel very fortunate to have someone like her in our lives. Her and Scotts' property that we visited was just amazing. Approximately 5 acres of NO neighbors nestled in the woods in Willow; it is definetly something Bill and I envy....and who knows maybe we will venture out there some day when and if we ever retire. We had a wonderful day of visiting and talking. Sara got to play around with their younger dog Patron; who for some reason did not care for Bill much. We all had a great day and will hopefully see both of them sometime soon.

Also in October we got to attend an end of year Fall Festival at Deb Moore's Farm, EZ Walker, for all the family's of the Susan Butcher Foundation. There were tractor rides, games, petting zoo, a huge bon-fire and of course horses, horses and more horses! Sara got to spend some more one on one time with her favorite, Catlynn, who even gave Sara a loving hug (the only way horses can, cradling Sara with her neck). It was just a wonderul day with great people in an awesome environment. So here is a BIG THANK YOU from the White Family and for everything this foundation has done for our family and others...you folks are just amazing and we are so thankful for everything you have done for our family and Sara.

October would not have been completed without a visit to the local Downtown Museum, which was featuring the Mammoth & Mastodon exhibit. Truly Awesome! We all had a blast going through the entire exhibit and checking out fossils, models and other hands-on exhibits. The museum did a great job and we are thankful that we took the time to see this. Can't wait to see what other cool things the museum will be offering this winter.
