More Summer Fun

My quest is going well in trying to keep everyone current in our summertime adventures this year.  Here are a few other stories to share...

Town Square Music:  Every Friday night in town square music bands of various sorts get together and put on a free concert for all to enjoy.  This one night we went, the band was a 'Neil Diamond Tribute Band' playing his classical hits.  Sara LOVES music of all kinds and really grooved out to these Neil tunes.  She danced her little heart out and even danced with her favorite partner, her Daddy, several times.

Beluga Point:  Beluga Point, just a short drive out of Anchorage down the Turnagain Arm; is one of our favorite places to visit.   Mostly we just walk around, admire the insane scenery, climb rocks and of course look for belugas.  Sara and I actually saw one, but I was not quick enough to get a picture of it; maybe next year.

Wildlife Conservation Center:  This really cool place is located about 40 minutes South of Anchorage, near Portage.  At the Conservation Center you can get really close to some of Alaska's native animals...sometimes almost too close.  When checking out the buffalo's, Sara and this tourist from Italy were standing right up against the fence.  The Italian was wearing a bright red jacket...all of the sudden this massive buffalo charges the fence and thankfully stopped.  The buffalo was huffing, puffing and making all sorts of grunting noises.  We just kept telling Sara to hold still.  Sure there was a fence, but it would not take much for that buffalo to push through.  Still a very cool experience.
