As soon as school let out on May 22nd, we were off to sunny and very hot Arizona to visit GG and Papa. Most of you know that GG is battling brain cancer and is putting up one heck of a fight. It was a short visit of only 9-10 days, but we made the most of it and had a wonderful visit. There we all did our best to help out. I cooked, cleaned and took care of GG's head wound; Bill helped Mom with therapy and kept a smile on her face and Sara, of course, provided entertainment when needed and spent some wonderful time with her GG reading books and giving her hugs and kisses. It was very hard to leave...all we want right now is to be with her and our family and help. Like Bill said...it would only be nice if his work would pay him for being away.
Bill is currently working hard at CH2MHill and building up as much paid time off as possible so he can make another trip in the near future and go see his folks. With a lot of hope we hope to send him on his way within the next month or so.

(Mom & Bill)When we returned from our trip, we decided to make a short trip to a very close State campground in Eagle River. Though it was only a few days it was nice to get out, get dirty and have some fun. Of course no camping trip would be complete without bringing Sara's new guinea pig, Browny, along for the ride. Yes, that is right, we brought the guinea pig. He actually did quite good on his first trip, despite a hard first night when the heat in the motor home went out. We all got cold, and thankfully fixed the problem the next day.
We also hiked a bit, went bike riding and enjoyed watching Sara feed the local squirrel population as well as meet and play with some other kids in the campground. A very good first trip.

(Playing Peek-a-Boo)The following weekend we decided to make a day trip down south to Portage Glacier and visit some wonderful friends of ours (Adrian, Emma, Toby and Brandon Durr) while they were camping at Williwaw. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of biking, laughing, eating some yummy treats and ended it by taking a beautiful hike around the campground where we came across a left over avalanche from winter. The kids were able to have a snowball fight in June and play on the snow in 70 degree weather. It was simply gorgeous! Thank you Durr family for having us:)
(The White Family on an Avalanche)On the weekend of the 18th, we managed again to go out on a short weekend trip to our favorite camping spot, Montana Creek. Again it was nice to get away, even if for a few days and have some family time. I was able to fish for a bit and Sara kept herself occupied by building an awesome sandcastle on the sandbar along the creek.
(Sara's creation)In the mean time we have been keeping busy working and working on our house. Sara is back at soccer again this year. She is doing great and having a ball. I am not sure if she will be continuing soccer in the years to come, since she is wanting to try different things. So this summer I will just sit back and enjoy watching her until she wants to try something else.
