Her birthday celebrations seemed to go on for days. Her actual "kid party" was held on Saturday, May 2nd at the West High School swimming pool in which Sara and five friends from her preschool joined us for an hour fun of swimming and going down this fabulous water slide they have at this pool. After the party we continued the party with strawberries, crackers and juice followed by a delicious cake. Everyone seemed to have a blast.
The other thing we did a bit different were the gifts. Instead of the normal traditional gifts children receive, we asked everyone to give Sara the gift of a book to expand her home library. It worked out great and Sara is already enjoying all her new books.
On her "actual" birthday, May 5th, Daddy was able to take the day off and we took her to a local play center called "Bouncin Bears", where they have several inflatable slides and bouncing contraptions for the kids to play on. She had a blast of course.
Later that day we had the "Whalen Cousins" and Uncle Duncan join us for a family birthday party. The girls wrestled with Uncle Sean for quite a bit, blew bubbles, colored the driveway and would later have a nice treat of cupcakes and organic vanilla ice cream. Yum!!!
So Happy Birthday my beautiful little girl. We look forward to the years to come and all the new experiences we will be sharing with you.
