Well...what can I say. My daughter amazes me.
On August 7th we headed out of town to attend the 2nd annual Kids Fishing Derby hosted at one of our favorite campgrounds at Montana Creek (about 100 miles North of Anchorage).
The derby was for the kids to catch the biggest "humpy" (a pink salmon). Prizes were not only given to the one lucky enough to catch the biggest humpy, but prizes were given to all 88 kids that participated. It was an absolute blast.

Sara was upset a little that she did not win the Beach Ball that she set her eyes on. Instead she won a cool flashlight that is very powerful and blinding; which of course she tested in the motor home later that evening.
Sara unfortunately did not hook into a "humpy", but she did hook into a silver salmon which she landed ALL BY HERSELF. She was soooo excited; as were we. We did end up letting the silver go, since it was on the small side; but thankfully I was able to snap a few photos of her in action.
